Which wood chipper wood shredder do you need
Garden chippers come in various designs and power levels, which are used depending on the type and amount of cuttings. The drive is usually via electric motors or gasoline engines (for mobile use), only large machines needed for heavy-duty tree felling work are driven by connection to the PTO of tractors. There is basically no limit to the branch diameter. The thicker the cuttings, the more powerful the motors must be. You can find wood chippers with gasoline engines here.
Small garden chippers are designed rather for the range up to 4.5 cm branch thickness, so they are not suitable for tree felling work. However, Victory garden chippers can also replace large wood shredders depending on motor power, as they can quickly process wood diameters up to 10 cm and more with their powerful gasoline engines.
Wood chippers with hydraulic feed rollers and high discharge
For professional use, wood shredders and wood chippers are often called brush chippers, whose hydraulically driven feed rollers can automatically pull in the fed cuttings and are equipped with a emergency stop bar.
Wood chippers with stronger drives usually have a high discharge, where the chipped material is thrown out in a high arc so that it can, for example, fall directly onto a trailer or be spread on a bed.
Blockages or jams can be cleared either by reversing the rotation direction – this only works with a wood shredder with hydraulic feed rollers, or more laboriously by opening the housing. To extend the life of your wood chipper, you should maintain it properly. Clean the knives or rollers after each use, lubricate the ball bearings and check screws, connections and hydraulic hoses. However, if diameters of more than 10 cm are processed, a smaller tractor cannot keep the rotor disc up to speed sufficiently, so the working speed suffers.
