Requirements for use on a tractor

In the power class between 40 and 100HP engine power, almost every tractor has the necessary requirements for operating a hydraulic wood chipper. Your tractor only needs a connection for a hydraulic pressure line and a non-pressurized return. The hydraulic power demand of the feed rollers of a wood chipper is rather low and can be provided by any tractor in this class.
 

Application area of the BX-72 wood shredder system:

The new Victory BX-72RS  is a very powerful and robust, yet easy to handle wood shredder with hydraulic feed for material up to 20cm diameter. The scope of delivery of the BX-72RS wood chipper includes a driveshaft with adjustable safety slip clutch as well as Cat I upper and lower link pins with additional bushings for Cat 2 mounting.

For optimal working results of the wood chipper, your tractor should have about 60 to 70 HP and a PTO speed between 540 and 1000 rpm.

The direct PTO drive of the wood chipper rotates a newly designed 95 kg heavy and carefully balanced rotor, on which four reversible knives made of hardened tool steel are mounted. The fast rotating rotor cuts the wood about 35 times per second.

The hydraulically tractor-hydraulics driven feed rollers are equipped with several rows of metal teeth and ensure reliable feeding even of wet wood. Even robust branch forks are time-savingly compressed by the hydraulics of the BX-72RS wood shredder, so you can save yourself cutting open most branch forks.

The wood is chipped into pieces about 1 to 5 cm in size depending on the setting of the newly designed L-shaped counter knife and the selected feed speed of the hydraulics and is thrown out by the strong air suction of the wood chipper rotor equipped with wings, making clogging almost impossible. The new counter knife completely covers the cutting area on the rotor disc and ensures an even better shredding of thin branches that could previously slip past the knife disc. The shredded material is thus more uniform than with other shredders and can be better used, for example, for wood chip heating systems.

For difficult materials such as fir, thuja or spruce, or bamboo or reed, 750 or 1000 rpm working speeds can also be used, provided your tractor has this PTO speed. This creates a significantly stronger air suction that effectively blows out even wet material.

Technology of the BX 72 wood shredder:

The new Victory BX-72RS wood shredder / wood chipper naturally has, like its predecessor the BX-62RS, a double-sided suspension of the feed rollers and an even reinforced feed hopper. This allows fast but also comfortable working. The large safety bar is used to operate the hydraulic function and controls both direction and speed (FORWARD – BACK – STOP) of the feed in conjunction with a hydraulic valve, so that blockages can almost always be eliminated by the "reverse gear".
Due to the special design of the feed hopper, the feed rollers sit very close in front of the rotor knives, which means that wood pieces that can no longer be held by the rollers are very short.


With the steplessly adjustable feed speed of the wood chipper, the shredding performance can be very easily adapted to the type and diameter of the wood.

Smaller diameters can be fed and shredded faster by the wood shredder than larger diameters.

Your tractor only needs a hydraulic pressure line and a non-pressurized return. Special control devices on the tractor are not required!
